Friday 5: Monday Edition

I came across the friday 5 today while surfing some blogs. Seems like great blog fodder, especially on Fridays when I can never think of anything to post anyway. I’ll do last weeks today:

1. As a child, who was your favorite superhero/heroine? Why?
Spiderman. Totally. I loved the idea that he was just a normal guy that had “just” been bitten by a spider. It almost seemed like it could happen to me! Plus, to me, the idea of being able to climb up walls and swinging on spider webs was the coolest fucking thing ever. I bet lots of kids dreamed of being superheros. At that age I wanted to be anyone that wasn’t me. I remember thinking how cool it would be to have this other super-persona that I could slip in and out of at will.

Look at me, I’m Super-Cool-Man… now don’t look at me, I’m just Vincent.

2. What was one thing you always wanted as a child but never got?
I was a Star Wars junkie, and I always wanted the Millenium Falcon. A classmate of mine had one, but I wasn’t really friends with him, so I never got to play with it. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD I wanted one.

3. What’s the furthest from home you’ve been?
Hawaii. That trip was also the last time I’ve on an airplane. I don’t remember what happened, but for some reason I’ve been scared to death of flying since we returned. I think it something to do with the Buddy-Holly-Killer planes that we travelled from island to island on. Bbbbrrrrt… bbbrrrrtt…. bbrrrtttt.. I think they actually had chickens on them too.

4. What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to learn but haven’t yet?
I’ve always wanted to learn to play the drums. I played them once, and I thought I was pretty good for someone who had never touched a set before.

Maybe sign language.

5. What are your plans for the weekend?
I only planned to see Myshkin at Blue Nile, and I got to do it, although I shouldn’t have let Dan talk me into leaving early. I had been waiting 7 months to see her again, and we only wound up stayed for an hour of her show. He was feeling sick so I took him home – but I already regret not going back after I dropped him off. Sorry Myshkin!
