Last night in Sociology we started talking about Mental Disorders. I’m not sure why, since they don’t really apply directly to Sociology, but I didn’t really care because I find MEntal Disorders totally fascinating. We covered a few Thought Disorders (schizophrenia and schizosomethingelse), the big Mood Disorders (Depression, Bi-Polar, etc) and discussed Phobias & Anxiety Disorders. I was going to show off my knowledge of obscure phobias since I researched a few for a paper in highschool – but all I could remember was Triscadecaphobia (fear of the number 13) and Meusaphobia (fear of pregnancy). I used to know the “fear of being eaten alive by sharks” and the “fear of having peanut butter stick to the roof of your mouth” but I couldn’t remember them.
