Thank you to Marshall for this WWLTV.com news story announcing New Orleans new status of Most Dangerous City. While I love the city dearly, the fact is just over three years ago NOLA was one of the safest cities in the country for months following the storm (granted, it was basically under marshall law at the time.) This is further evidence that if any city can fuck something up like starting over from scratch, it’s New Orleans.
“New Orleans clearly had a high murder rate compared to the national average,” said Quarterly editor Doug Goldenberg-Hart. “New Orleans rate was about 17-times the national average for murder per 100-thousand people. That dragged New Orleans’ score pretty high. Across other areas, car theft was a big problem as was burglary for New Orleans.
Same old crime, same old politicians, same old bullshit, same ol’ same ol’. Way to go!
