One day at a time

This past weekend was amazing – I really needed it to be, honestly. My friend Jack and I went to see Bob Mould play a pre-BlowOff set at 9:30, then stuck around for BlowOff itself. I had a blast, like last time. Jack got to pee next to Alan Cumming in the restroom and I got to see Lady Gaga poke her head out of a window next to the stage like a stoned coo coo bird and stare down at the crowd as she tried to figure out where she was.

Total rockstar.

Sunday was the National Equality March on the mall, which was equally impressive. I’m not very political, but it’s amazing to be in the middle of 40,000+ chanting, shirtless, riled up gay men and still know there probably is still only 6 tops in the crowd.

Now that I think about it, Lady Gaga was there too — I swear that bitch is following me.

Monday we got together upstairs at Nellie’s for a memorial to celebrate my friend Tadd’s life. It was an odd mix of people: Tadd’s bar friends, coworkers, ex-boyfriends, ex-coworkers, even friends of mine he had met just a few times. Some of them I had met before, some I hadn’t – but we were all were there to remember Tadd and support each other during this difficult time; a testimony to how special of a guy he was.
